Harlem Empowerment Project provides free literacy, education, and vocational training to help program participants and their families work towards financial security.

We welcome the diversity of our program participants.

We are all different ages, nationalities, colors, religions and genders. Each one of us has our own needs and obligations. We are flexible and work around family and job responsibilities to meet the needs of each individual.

Last year I couldn’t make any sentences. Now, when I see anyone in the street, I say I have a very good teacher. Here we are family.
